Another early alarm call for the camp on Thursday morning with one in each section of the Mountain and Moorland Working Hunter ponies it was set to be a busy day,
Buck was still very pleased with himself from the previous evening’s achievement but despite all the hype he settled well and got straight back to business producing an amazing clear round in the 122cm class followed by a brilliant show, with the final pacing’s being announced nobody would even dare to dream that he could do the double, but once again after a nail biting few minutes – Pumphill Buckthorn was announced as the winner – Plenty more tears all round and another very good excuse for champagne. Follow up:

The next representative of the team was the O’Connor’s Dun welsh section C gelding Brimstone Bowman (see for sale page) who was clearly on fine form, Bryn and Sarah produced another perfect clear round and a mannerly show to secure a fabulous 2nd place and another spot in the Championship.
Without any time for a break next up was undoubtedly one of the yards longest inhabitants, Rebels Flight who has been with Sarah for over 10 years, Having been 2nd last year and such a consistent HOYS contender over the years we all had everything crossed for him, Rebel didn’t disappoint and again jumped an outstanding round making the course look like a mere walk in the park,
however he was obviously still quite full of his own self importance when it came to the second phase and decided to buck several times during the gallop in his show, despite this he ended up 2nd (by one mark) and earned another place in the Championship.
With Sarah opting to stay on Buck for the afternoon Championship, Juliet O’Connor (Bryn’s owner) rushed back home to get her riding clothes and Becki partnered Rebel,
Once again Buck and Sarah pulled out all the stops and went on to take the Mountain and Moorland Working Hunter Pony of the Year Championship – we believe this is the first time any pony has ever done the double.
